I think because this was a new supply compared to the pan watercolors, they were all very excited to see these in the classroom. Once they were able to get their hands on them, they were amazed at how pigments they were compared to what they were using before. So that excitement was nice to see because they were eager to experiment and start their projects.\r\n\r\nWe were able to use these resources to explore landscapes drawn from places that matter to them - home, local parks, favorite vacation spots, even imaginary places that feel like \"safe\" or beloved places. By allowing themselves to experiment - to let the pigment flow beyond the lines, to mix unexpected hues, to build contrast between soft and hard edges - they were able not just to copy landscapes but to express what those places feel like to them. \r\n\r\nThese materials were used in the previous school year. Now that were in the beginning of the new school year, we're back at the basic with drawing.
