They immediately started pointing out their favorites—Pop-Tarts, Cheez-Its, and the new board games—and brainstorming when we could use them. Having these resources in the classroom has already created a sense of anticipation and joy around our homeroom time. One memorable moment was when we first brought out Hues and Cues; students who don't normally talk much in class jumped in enthusiastically, laughing and connecting with their classmates.\r\n\r\nThese resources are doing exactly what we hoped: giving students daily incentives to be present and opportunities to bond with each other. The snacks are simple but powerful—just the right encouragement to participate or a small way to brighten a student's day. The games are helping us build a culture where students feel comfortable, welcomed, and excited to come together.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to make these resources a regular part of homeroom. Whether it's celebrating milestones, rewarding participation, or just taking a moment to connect as a community, these snacks and games are helping us create the strong, positive classroom culture that homeroom is meant to foster.
