We are in the middle of a wellness movement with the vision to create a wellness room where students and staff alike can come take a breather, a time out, a moment to connect and get grounded and reframe their day so they can head back to their classrooms and feel like they've got what they needed to move on with their day in a more positive way. \r\n\r\nOriginally we found a tiny room on campus that we could convert into a wellness room - it was big enough for two lounge chairs and end tables. But we came to a standstill when we started scraping the sound proofing off the walls. Turns out the glue is toxic! But here's the good news - we've gotten approval to turn an entire classroom into a wellness room for the whole school community! \r\n\r\nThe pictures I've shared are those of the tiny room with the donations we've gathered so far and I will be starting a new donor's choose project to help with the new room!\r\n\r\nThanks for being part of our vision!","fullyFundedDate":1758696070782,"projectUrl":"project/creating-calm-a-wellness-room-for-stude/9748235/","projectTitle":"Creating Calm: A Wellness Room for Students & Staff","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Medina","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10274801_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1758572924853","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10274801"},{"teacherId":9823043,"projectId":8914217,"letterContent":"Thank you very much for your generous donations to make the classroom a safer and more comfortable space for our learners. My 9th and 10th grade students walked into a refreshed classroom with the alternative seating option, and they were amazed by the community support from you. \r\nWith the alternative seating and the conversation cubes, we committed to building the community and being open with each other. Students learned more about each other and embraced differences. Moreover, students generally feel more comfortable to share their feelings and respect each other. The squishies toys, stress balls, slime, and snacks brought bright smiles to students' faces. Even if challenging things happen in life, they'd remember that they are loved and supported by so many amazing community members like and that, their presence at school would always be celebrated.\r\nYour care and donation made a lasting impact in our learning community.
