More importantly, they learned critical safety skills by handling hot cooking surfaces with proper guidance and support. Each cooking session became a rich, multisensory learning experience where abstract concepts became concrete and tangible.\r\nBeyond academics, students developed life skills that will serve them long after they leave our classroom. They practiced independence by measuring, following multi-step directions, and making decisions about ingredients. They learned to handle kitchen tools responsibly, building genuine safety awareness. Wearing aprons and chef hats turned cooking into a playful, social experience where every student felt like a real chef, boosting confidence and engagement. For many of these students, cooking success meant trying something new and discovering they could do it, a powerful realization that builds resilience and self-advocacy.\r\nWhat started as a cooking activity became a catalyst for broader growth.
