Your generosity is making a meaningful difference for my students.\r\n\r\nMy students' reading abilities range from kindergarten to high school levels, and their interests are just as varied. Finding books that are both appropriate for their reading levels and genuinely interesting to them can be a challenge.\r\n\r\nThis year, our librarian's hours were reduced so drastically that she is only on campus one day a week. With approximately 350 students requesting books, those requests cannot always be filled in a timely manner. Sometimes the library has only one copy of a requested book, which means students may have to wait weeks for their turn. Because of this, I looked at the books my students were requesting most often and included those titles in my project.\r\n\r\nMy students were so excited to see complete series of books they had been waiting weeks to read. Now, those books are in beautiful condition and, most importantly, right at their fingertips. Being able to provide a student with a book they genuinely want to read—and being able to do so when they want it—sends a powerful message: their choices, interests, and reading development matter.\r\n\r\nThank you for showing my students that their reading and their growth as readers are valued—not only within our classroom walls, but by people in our community who believe in them. Middle schoolers love food...so having special treats to earn was a great way to be motivated. Thank you for helping me create a fun classroom, where students see that their efforts can be rewarding and self-fulfilling. Offering choices of rewards brings it to another level!
