My students, who range in age from 3 to 11, are each on their own journeys toward understanding their unique neurodivergent identities. Having access to materials that introduce the concept of neurodiversity in a child-friendly and accessible way has been an invaluable resource. These books have helped my students better understand their learning differences and recognize that these differences are not deficiencies, but rather reflections of the unique ways their brains are wired.\r\n\r\nFor my younger students, these books provide a strong foundation for developing pride and confidence in their learning differences, encouraging them to view these traits as strengths—perhaps even superpowers—rather than limitations. For my older students, who often experience feelings of shame, embarrassment, or confusion about their differences, the books have served as a powerful tool to dispel misconceptions, foster self-acceptance, and remind them that they are not alone.\r\n\r\nI am deeply grateful for the opportunity to share these resources with my students. They not only promote understanding and self-acceptance but also empower my students to build self-esteem, confidence, and the ability to self-advocate for their individual learning needs.","fullyFundedDate":1759614230613,"projectUrl":"project/understanding-of-neurodiversity-through/9765135/","projectTitle":"Understanding of Neurodiversity Through Literature","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Meagan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2066214_orig.jpg?crop=240,240,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1758810316392","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/meagan-jones"},{"teacherId":7230121,"projectId":9246518,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your donation to our classroom. It has been so fun to watch them use their imaginations and play together so nicely. Sometimes they spend the entire time arranging all of the furniture and accessories. One group arranged the dollhouse and had a party so the other families could come.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite things about the dollhouse was seeing the students' reactions to it!
