I ordered the materials necessary and students got to work. We had everything from testing the \"5 Second Rule\" to building a robotic car.\r\n\r\nIn case you are interested, there is something to the 5 Second Rule in that the food item that hit the floor and was picked up after 5 seconds grew very minimal bacteria over the 1 week test while the food item left on the floor for 20 min grew massive bacteria over the same time test period!\r\n\r\nStudents who are in my science and STEAM elective classes and showed great effort and interest were invited to apply for a 1 week, all expenses paid trip to New York to visit MIT and experience other labs and science-based experiences. Of the 30 students selected, 3 were from my classes and had completed research projects that you helped to fund!
