Thanks to your generosity, our room is no longer just a clinical space—it is a warm, vibrant sanctuary where students feel safe to take risks, make mistakes, and practice their communication skills. We use the new sensory seating, engaging articulation games, and interactive language tools daily.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first walked into the room after the materials were set up, their eyes lit up instantly. One of my younger students gasped, ran over to the new cozy reading nook, and said, \"Is this really for us?\" They were thrilled to see bright, colorful resources instead of plain flashcards. The room immediately felt like a special place built just for them, and their enthusiasm for coming to speech therapy has skyrocketed ever since.","fullyFundedDate":1775495348279,"projectUrl":"project/a-welcoming-and-engaging-speech-language/10045160/","projectTitle":"A Welcoming and Engaging Speech-Language Therapy Room","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hartleben Medina","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8714196_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1663872633907","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8714196"},{"teacherId":8714196,"projectId":9547727,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of my DonorsChoose project! My students—especially those who need extra support with engagement and comprehension—are lighting up when they see new stories on the shelf. It's incredible to watch their curiosity and confidence grow.\r\n\r\nThe flexible seating has also transformed our space. My students now have the freedom to choose where they feel most comfortable learning—whether that's on a wobble stool, a floor cushion, or a cozy nook with a book. This added comfort and autonomy is helping them stay focused, motivated, and excited for speech sessions.\r\n\r\nYour kindness is not only enhancing their learning, but also helping create a warm and welcoming environment where every child feels supported. In our dual language program, our goal is to develop biliterate students, children who can read, write, and think in both English and Spanish. These new books have given my students valuable opportunities to practice reading comprehension, build vocabulary, and strengthen their fluency in English while continuing to honor and support their Spanish language skills.\r\n\r\nReading time has become one of the most joyful parts of our day. Students eagerly choose their English books, reading aloud to partners or quietly sounding out new words on their own. I often see pairs of students helping each other translate or discuss what's happening in the story, naturally blending both languages as they learn together. Many of my students show excitement while reading and their confidence is definitely shinning.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has helped create a classroom where reading truly connects two languages and cultures. My students couldn't wait to try them out. You could see the smiles and hear the laughter as they discovered how these special chairs allowed them to move, balance, and focus all at the same time. For many of my students, especially those who struggle to sit still or need extra sensory input, these chairs have been a game changer.\r\n\r\nSince incorporating flexible seating, I've noticed a remarkable difference in student focus and engagement during lessons. The wobble chairs allow my students to quietly release energy without disrupting their learning or others around them. I've seen students who used to fidget constantly now able to stay on task longer and participate more confidently in discussions and small group work. The movement helps them regulate their bodies and minds, turning what used to be distractions into purposeful, productive energy.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generous support, my classroom has become a more inclusive and comfortable learning environment.
