Your donation has truly made a difference in our classroom, and I am so grateful for your kindness.\r\n\r\nThe materials you provided are already being used daily with both my Adult Transition Program (ATP) students and my middle school functional academics class. These students benefit greatly from hands-on, interactive learning, and your support has allowed us to bring social communication and life skills to life in a way that feels engaging and real. We've been using the conversation dice, picture cards, and scenario-based games to practice skills like starting conversations, solving problems, and navigating social situations. The fidgets have also helped many of my students stay regulated and focused, which has made a noticeable impact on their ability to participate.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their excitement was immediate. They were curious, eager, and ready to engage. Some of my quieter students, who don't always jump into activities, were drawn in by the games and visuals and began participating more than usual. Moments like that are incredibly meaningful and remind me how powerful the right tools can be.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we will continue building these skills and applying them to real-life situations—whether that's interacting with peers, participating in class, or preparing for future work and community experiences. These are skills that will truly carry over beyond the classroom.\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in my students and investing in their growth. Your support is helping them build confidence, connection, and independence in ways that will last far beyond this school year.\r\n\r\nWith gratitude,\r\nTheresa Sisemore\r\nSpeech-Language Pathologist","fullyFundedDate":1764291210011,"projectUrl":"project/communicate-connect-celebrate-tools-f/9905388/","projectTitle":"Communicate, Connect, Celebrate: Tools for Special Needs Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Sisemore","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10354212"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_55017","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":540,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":80,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":3,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":90,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":75.0,"schoolId":55017,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Salinas Adult Transition Program on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Salinas Adult Transition Program","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/salinas-union-high-school-district/salinas-adult-school/55017"}
