I love that they have a choice because they are using the notebooks. Choice increases students' engagement in class and with the material!\r\nI graded their work and most are keeping up and keeping organized! That is thanks to using the notebooks. It is a great break from cognitive input and a chance to get a small brain break but at the same time building a \"story\" of history through mapping.\r\nStudents will annotate the maps with information at a later date with facts they found interesting about each region and then students will share maps to find commonalities as well as hear different perspectives. Mapping is not only \"fun\" but it also has great educational value!\r\nYour donations will allow students to do \"active\" work, think deeply about their perspectives, and then share and discuss points of view while keeping an open mind and actively listening to others! Students got to know each other through their discussions and smiles abounded as connections were made.\r\nI have students asking to borrow other novel titles because they enjoyed the first one they read.
