I have been a school social worker for 8 years and one thing I've learned is that sometimes the thing kids need the most in the moment to help them regulate is a snack. I work with several students who often have their most nutritious meals at school. As a social worker, I teach students about the connection between the brain and the body, which includes how important it is to eat nutritious food because our brains use about 20% of our body's energy. Having snacks on-hand to provide to students who don't have access to breakfast before school goes a long way. \r\n\r\nThe organizer has also been a huge help! My office has several things happening in it each week: intervention team meetings, parent/teacher conferences, student small groups, individual counseling sessions, etc. Before, I had several of the items in individual cups that I was constantly moving around based on what was happening and when. Now, I'm able to leave everything on the table and without it looking like a huge mess! Your generosity means so much to my students and I.","fullyFundedDate":1767046682518,"projectUrl":"project/student-support-center/9968000/","projectTitle":"Student Support Center","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Stroble","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9286972_orig.jpg?crop=1616,1616,x272,y256&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1695235652425","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9286972"},{"teacherId":2311848,"projectId":9690114,"letterContent":"To be honest, the Shaper Origin has been such an amazing addition to our shop that I could never have imagined the impact it would have on students with different abilities and learning styles. Students have used the free design program included with the tool to learn the basics of digital design and bring their ideas to life. They have created fun signs, personalized designs, and added custom details to other projects. The Shaper Origin gives students an opportunity to combine creativity, technology, and hands-on woodworking in a way that makes every student feel successful.\r\nWhen students first saw the Shaper Origin, they were in awe. It looks like a futuristic, space-age machine—and in many ways, it is! It gives our students the chance to work with modern technology in a classroom filled with older, yet still powerful, woodworking tools. I love the combination of the old and the new because it shows students that traditional craftsmanship and modern technology can work together. This year, our advanced woodshop students will use the Shaper Origin to create custom wooden name tags for their lockers. They will attach the name tags to the outside of their lockers throughout the school year, and at the end of the year, they will be able to take them home as a lasting reminder of the skills they learned and the projects they created.","fullyFundedDate":1758255180181,"projectUrl":"project/the-smart-shop-blending-tech-with-tradi/9690114/","projectTitle":"The Smart Shop: Blending Tech With Tradition","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Heckey","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2311848_orig.png?crop=1494,1494,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1757474340115","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2311848"},{"teacherId":280469,"projectId":8568190,"letterContent":"Dear donors,\r\n\r\nI am writing to express my deepest gratitude for your generous support of my classroom project, \"Creative Learning.\" Thanks to your contributions, my students now have a wonderful new collection of markers, Sharpies, and colored pencils that have transformed our daily art and discovery time.\r\n\r\nThe moment the packages arrived, my students were absolutely buzzing with excitement. When they saw the vibrant colors and the high-quality Sharpies for the first time, their eyes lit up; they couldn't wait to get their hands on them to start creating. It is truly heartening to see how these simple, high-quality materials have boosted their confidence and encouraged them to take more risks with their artistic expression.\r\n\r\nWe are currently using these new resources to illustrate our latest unit on storytelling. Students are using the colored pencils to add intricate details to their narrative drawings and the Sharpies to define their outlines, making their work pop with professional-looking flair. Seeing them treat these supplies with such care and enthusiasm has been a highlight of my teaching year. This project has not only allowed us to complete our lessons with better results but has also fostered a new level of joy and pride in their classroom work.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, these materials will continue to be a staple in our room. Our next step is to use these supplies to create collaborative murals based on our social studies curriculum, which will allow the students to apply what they have learned in a large-scale, creative format. Your kindness has provided my students with the tools they need to visualize their ideas and bring their imaginations to life.
