My kindergartners were so excited when I told them about your generous donation. They all cheered when I mentioned that we would be getting new and exciting games for them to play. When I downloaded the games and activities, they were thrilled. My students love playing the competitive games. My goal was for them to progress in their reading skills, especially learning the high frequency words. Before the donation, the students only knew a handful of words. They were not practicing at home and giving them flashcards was not motivating them, so I needed to do something to encourage them. I found these great games that I bought with your donation. The students love playing them. I can use these games not only with the whole class but during small group time and after school tutoring. I work with students for an hour after school and my little ones will tell me, \"I love tutoring!\" This is their favorite time of the day. \r\n \r\nSince most of my students who stay after school are English language learners, they are getting stronger in the English language as well. They are interacting socially with their classmates and boosting their vocabulary and communication skills. My shy, less confident students have blossomed. Thank you for helping to facilitate their leadership and academic skills. I cannot wait to share my students' progress with the parents during conference time. Thank you so much! When I shared the calming tools with my students, they were so excited to use them. Now my calming corner has the necessary tools to help my students de-stress, regulate their emotions and regain their composure. One of my students who has sensory issues was getting upset and stood up from where she was sitting and walked over to the calming area. She was able to recognize that her behavior was escalating and took a break from learning and returned when she regained her composure.\r\nThe calming area with the new resources has allowed me to continue to teach without disruptive behavior interfering with the other students' learning. My kindergartners are gaining a better understanding of their own emotional needs and they are learning when they need to remove themselves from a stressful situation.
