Your generosity has made a profound difference in our classroom, where the impact on my students with moderate to severe Autism has improved their experience learning and engaging in ways that are visible every school day. Because of you, my students walk into a learning environment that feels joyful, welcoming and full of possibility. \r\n\r\nThe learning materials you funded, especially the \"Early Learning Language Flow Books,\" have become a vital part of our small group instruction. These books are designed to support early learning skills, and we have watched students grow in remarkable ways. Their engagement has increased significantly; students who previously struggled to attend to stories are now listening, participating more and responding to questions with greater confidence. These materials have strengthened not only their literacy levels but also their ability to understand, recall and make connections. \r\n\r\nIn addition to the literacy tools, the craft supplies and play based activities you helped provide have transformed our classroom community. Students \r\nnow have daily opportunities to interact in hands-on ways using markers, whiteboards, building blocks, Play-Doh and tabletop sand. These materials used organically by students are encouraging them to initiate play, interact with one another, share and practice taking turns. In class we have seen groups of two to five verbal and non-verbal classmates sitting, communicating and building together. These moments show how play can bridge communication gaps and foster social growth that traditional instruction cannot always achieve.\r\n\r\nAnother impactful addition to our classroom is the \"Ultra Pop Sensory Tent.\" This space has provided students who need sensory and self regulation support with a calming place to reset. If a student feels overwhelmed, overstimulated or in need of a quiet moment, the tent offers a comforting environment helping them regain focus and return to learning with confidence.\r\n\r\nAlthough it is November, it really feels like springtime among students and staff in our learning space. Students are willing to try new activities, more confident in their abilities to communicate and much more connected to one another. \r\n\r\nOn behalf of my students, their parents/families and classroom staff, we thank you again for supporting and contributing to each student and our classroom needs.","fullyFundedDate":1756174870897,"projectUrl":"project/special-matters-2025-26-school-year/9442826/","projectTitle":"Special Matters 2025-26 School Year!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Price-Peters","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2754008_orig.jpg?crop=1084,1084,x148,y283&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1583379317069","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2754008"},{"teacherId":4270368,"projectId":9211227,"letterContent":"Because of your generous donations, my students will have the ability to score higher on their standardized test and understand words they otherwise would not know. This story gives me the opportunity to have an open and honest conversation about the history of mental health and how different is a good thing as it takes different minds to create new things.\r\n\r\nWhen we read this book this year, there was a particular student in one of my classes that was being picked on for his autism. The students in that class, because of this book, rallied round him and started telling people to be like Miss Kinnian and don't be a Frank or Joe. \"Don't be a Frank\" became the cool thing to say in 7th grade. Those experiences couldn't have happened without you providing this book for my students. Again, thank you for your generosity and compassion.","fullyFundedDate":1723676019294,"projectUrl":"project/flowers-for-everyone/8555376/","projectTitle":"\"Flowers\" for Everyone","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Owens","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4270368_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1486596373256","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/msowens916"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_32828","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":744,"numTeachers":36,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":29,"percentBlack":13,"percentWhite":4,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":40,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"20.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":83.5,"schoolId":32828,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Rosa Parks K-8 School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Rosa Parks K-8 School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/sacramento-city-unified-school-district/rosa-parks-middle-school/32828"}
