Your generosity allowed me to purchase resources from Teachers Pay Teachers that have helped me bring more creative, hands-on learning into my English Learner classroom. I was able to purchase community-building activities and project-based learning resources that give my students opportunities to practice English while creating, sharing, and learning from one another.\r\n\r\nMy students have already used these resources in so many different ways. At the end of last school year, they created paper quilts to represent who they are, their cultures, interests, and the things that are important to them. They also completed a project where they had to teach the class how to do something of their choice. This gave them the chance to become the \"teacher,\" share something they knew well, and practice speaking and presenting in English. This school year, we have continued using these resources with activities like our \"About Me\" pipe cleaner sculptures and a paper chain activity to help students get to know one another and build our classroom community.\r\n\r\nFor my English Learners, these activities are about so much more than completing a project. They give students a reason to speak, listen, ask questions, share their stories, and build confidence using English. Thank you for helping me provide learning experiences where my students can practice their English while also feeling seen, capable, and connected to their classmates.
