We are so grateful! I just wanted to let you know that these supplies have been used by so many students in my grade level, in our STEM Club, and during Saturday School. The fan favorite (as of now) is the magnetic building sets. We actually used them for our class Science Fair project to test which bridge designs could hold the most weight.\r\n\r\n These materials are perfect for hands-on engineering, but they are also teaching my students the power of perseverance—a skill we all definitely need! When a tower collapses or they lose a game, they still get a little frustrated. However, they are now learning from those mistakes, talking through what went wrong, and trying again until they succeed.\r\n\r\nWhen the packages arrived, we had and an \"unboxing.\" They were so pumped with materials that they decided to work toward a \"STEM Day\" as their next class reward. This was great because usually students choose extra computer time, so it was awesome to see them choose a \"screen free\" celebration. Our new board games have also been a hit, as they challenge the students to think critically and strategically in ways they may not get to experience at home.\r\n\r\nHere are some upcoming activities that we have planned with the supplies. We are going to have a \"Survive an Earthquake\" challenge where students will create the earthquake resistant structures. In our STEM club, we going to have a board game tournament to help students with problem solving, work on their communication and sportsmanship. Whether we are following a lesson plan or just building for fun on a rainy afternoon, these materials are going to be loved and used every single day!","fullyFundedDate":1760801296405,"projectUrl":"project/stem-sational-supplies/9755912/","projectTitle":"STEM-sational Supplies","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Simas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3835532_272x272.png?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1522391581817","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-simas"},{"teacherId":4208870,"projectId":9641811,"letterContent":"Dear donors,\r\n\r\nThank you so much for your generous support in providing headphones for our classroom. These headphones have made a meaningful difference in our students' learning experience. With access to audio based programs, students are now able to fully engage in lessons without distractions, especially during independent work time. They can listen to directions, educational videos, and reading support tools more clearly, which has helped improve both their focus and understanding.\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting changes has been how much more confident and independent my students have become. They are eager to use the headphones and take ownership of their learning, whether they are practicing reading skills, working on math programs, or completing assignments that require listening. Students who benefit from hearing text read aloud have especially shown growth, as they are now able to follow along at their own pace without feeling overwhelmed.\r\n\r\nI have also noticed that students who sometimes struggle to stay on task are more engaged when using the headphones. The ability to block out background noise helps them concentrate and feel successful. Your support has created a more inclusive and productive learning environment for all of my students, and we are truly grateful for your generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1758587964490,"projectUrl":"project/tuned-in-to-learning-headphones-for-our/9641811/","projectTitle":"Tuned In to Learning: Headphones for Our Class","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gonzalez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4208870_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1530582276324","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-j-gonzalez"},{"teacherId":7114336,"projectId":10091515,"letterContent":"Our Classroom is Feeling \"Whole\" Again! \r\nHow are we using the new resources? The transformation in our \"Discovery Centers\" has been incredible. Many afternoons, my TK students head straight for the puzzle shelf. We recently had a \"Teamwork Tuesday\" where four students collaborated on a giant solar system floor puzzle. Instead of working in isolation, I watched them communicate, negotiate who would do the \"starry edges,\" and cheer when the sun was finally placed in the center. The number puzzles have also become a go-to for my students who are working on one-to-one correspondence, as they can physically feel the shape of the number \"5\" while counting out five matching objects.\r\n\r\nThe First Look: Pure Excitement\r\nWhen the boxes arrived, the \"oohs\" and \"aahs\" were audible across the hallway! My students were especially thrilled by the vibrant colors of the new wooden puzzles. One of my students, who is usually very shy, hugged an insect jigsaw puzzle and said, \"Teacher, it's brand new!\" Having high-quality, sturdy materials makes my students feel valued; they recognize that these are special tools meant just for their learning.\r\n\r\nWhat's Next for Our Scholars?\r\nNow that we have mastered the basic mechanics of these puzzles, we are using these puzzles to practice growth mindset. We talk about what to do when a piece doesn't fit—instead of saying \"I can't,\" my students are learning to say, \"I haven't found the right spot yet.\" We are also transitioning into a math unit on \"Parts of a Whole,\" and these puzzles are the perfect hands-on bridge to help them understand how small pieces create a bigger picture.\r\n\r\nThank you for providing the \"missing pieces\" to our classroom environment!","fullyFundedDate":1771040693962,"projectUrl":"project/piece-by-piece-building-big-brains-in-t/10091515/","projectTitle":"Piece by Piece: Building Big Brains in TK","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Wong","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7114336"},{"teacherId":8050056,"projectId":9336658,"letterContent":"I really appreciate your donation to buy my class headphones.
