Students were excited to begin working on their individual projects. They had a choice between making a beanie or a scarf, and could choose from different yarn types and colors. Every Tuesday, students spent time during lunch working on their project, and by the end of the semester, they had completed it. \r\nI enjoyed seeing students work through their projects and overcome moments of frustration when they had to undo some of their progress because of a mistake. Students expressed a sense of fulfillment and excitement upon completing their project. A few students took supplies home over winter break to complete another project during their time off. \r\nOnce we return from winter break, students will have a choice to continue using the knitting looms to complete their projects or try using a crochet hook or knitting needles. While the loom is an excellent tool for beginners, it can limit the stitch designs that students can make on their beanies or scarves, and it often takes longer to complete a project. My goal is to push students to develop their skills further and give them opportunities to be creative in their projects.","fullyFundedDate":1763474735084,"projectUrl":"project/creative-hobbies-to-improve-stress-manag/9485991/","projectTitle":"Creative Hobbies to Improve Stress Management","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Torres Corona","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9077886_orig.png?crop=288,288,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1725413598297","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9077886"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_68532","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1168,"numTeachers":56,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":5,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":90,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"20.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":73.3,"schoolId":68532,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Granite Hills High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Granite Hills High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/porterville-unified-school-district/granite-hills-high-school/68532"}
