The students are absolutely loving the opportunity to experience the fun of growing a garden without being let down by the cold weather or difficulty being outdoors and squatting on the dirt grounds.\r\nWe have begun our life science lesson focusing on environmental changes. Students are making connections between temperatures and what helps different plants grow. Students have learned that not all seeds grow at the same time of the year and that not all seeds grow with the same speed. Students were able to go hands on with planting without having to worry about their bodies not feeling comfortable being outside. All of them enjoyed being able to work with dirt, observe different seeds, plant and watch it sprout then replant, and continue to water and provide lighting each day while observing its growth. \r\nWe have scheduled times when students can then show their parents the plants thy have grown and ALL of the students are so confident and proud of themselves when they are bringing their plants to show their family. \r\nThe students have grown so much and really enjoy having this experience, all with gratitude to the generous donors who were wiling to provide the opportunity! As we are entering the winter season and anticipating the spring season, the students will be planting much more and they will be able to bring home their growing plants so that they may continue taking care of their plants after school hours.","fullyFundedDate":1757005153078,"projectUrl":"project/from-seedlings-to-scholars-a-learning-g/9670618/","projectTitle":"From Seedlings to Scholars, a Learning Greenhouse","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. B","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10172427"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_5159","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":428,"numTeachers":29,"percentFrplEligible":45,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":55,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":35,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"14.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":69.7,"schoolId":5159,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Petaluma Junior High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Petaluma Junior High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/petaluma-city-schools/petaluma-junior-high-school/5159"}
