I am grateful that our female students have this resource available. The students were excited and glad to see they had hygiene products. They expressed feeling cared for and they mattered. It opened up conversation about self-care, hygiene but also about their basic needs. I will share a story about one of our female students, she experienced a lot of family conflict and was left to provide for herself despite she is still a minor. When speaking to the student, the student expressed even hygiene products, which are a basic need would not be provided by family, however, when she found out that we could help with supplies, she smiled and was very happy. \r\nIt is situations like this one that make me feel very grateful that there are so generous people like you that care for our students. Many of our students shared that they do not have breakfast or lunch at school for various reasons but they want a snack, granola bar, that will help them fight the hunger until they get out of school. The students were very excited to see the various snacks available to them. They shared they felt welcomed and cared for. The students have found the wellness center a safe space to share their stories and feel free to have access to snacks when they need a little pick me up. \r\nStudents participating in social emotional groups were also excited to see snacks on the table during their meetings. The snacks has helped students open up during meetings and have conversations with each other. The students and I very grateful for your generosity.
