Many students came to school without proper winter gear, and receiving these items helped them feel cared for, valued, and included.\r\n\r\nThe Book Buddies program has supported literacy while also providing emotional comfort. For some children, their Book Buddy became a source of security and confidence, especially during independent reading or transitions.
