My students' eyes lit up when they first saw the paint sticks, movement ribbons, and colorful sand waiting for them. They could not wait to get started. One of our first projects was using the paint sticks to create holiday cards. The children loved how easy they were to use and proudly shared their artwork with classmates and families.\r\n\r\nThe movement ribbons quickly became a favorite during music and movement time. Students twirled and danced with joy, building confidence while practicing coordination. The kinetic and colored sand have been just as popular. During small-group centers, students dig, shape, and explore while strengthening fine motor skills and sharing ideas with friends.\r\n\r\nThese resources have transformed our daily learning. They make lessons more engaging and hands-on, and they allow every child to express creativity in a way that fits their style. Our next step is to use the supplies for upcoming holiday projects, including ornaments and classroom decorations, which the children are already excited about. One of the most memorable moments was during our recent phonics lesson, where students were able to build words, in a fun and creative way, that made it more memorable and useful. The room was buzzing with creativity, teamwork, and pride in their accomplishments!\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their faces lit up with joy and curiosity. You have helped our small seeds grow with the proper tools needed for any classroom. These books will help the next generation of students learn how to enjoy reading and how to utilize information from books. Many of these books will follow along with our lessons on how to make friends, understanding families and what a community looks like. We start off our year with how to make friends. Some of the books you helped acquire include: A Friend for Henry, Little Blue Truck Makes A Friend and This is How We Make Friends. These books show examples of how students can meet and make new friends. This is especially important as many of these children have not socialized much with others their own age. It is an important skill that will last them a lifetime. Another theme we explore in our class is learning about different animals. Some of the books we acquired include: The National Geographic level 1 books on animals and Eric Carle board books on animals. As we live in a desert region, many students do not have the opportunity to see many of these animals. These books help lay the foundation for knowledge they will need heading into Kindergarten. Our class also looks at our community as a way to develop positive relationships with others. One particular project we do in our class includes making a model of their favorite building in our community. Books like The Great Big Book of Families, explores the different people in our community, It engages the students to build relationships with each other as they compare and contrast their similarities and differences in a positive environment. \r\n\r\nIn our classroom students are encouraged to explore the world through reading. We have a dedicated reading nook for 10 students to sit comfortably and read during free time. Some students have started exploring our new books on Kindergarten as many will be going there next year. One of the most popular new books is Next Stop: Kindergarten. This wonderful book helps students understand and address some of the emotional concerns they might have going to a new class. It approaches the transition in a manner that alleviates worries by comparing some of the things they learn to what they know in Preschool. \r\n\r\nYour donations have had such an impact on our classroom. I have taught for many years at Sunny Sands Elementary. I have taught for so long that children of previous preschool students are now my students. It is a classroom that has impacted multiple generations. I am so happy to continue helping students enter their educational career in a positive and loving environment. It is my hope that by building my classroom with the best tools I can help improve the impact I have made on our community. Teaching students to read and helping them discover the love for reading is a reward that doesn't compare. With your help I am able to provide this to all our precious kids.","fullyFundedDate":1744290653473,"projectUrl":"project/preschool-classroom-library/9230293/","projectTitle":"Preschool Classroom Library","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Dougherty","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9990834"},{"teacherId":3086982,"projectId":9179186,"letterContent":"I want to sincerely thank you for your generous support of our classroom project, \"Help Me Build a Dramatic Play Center for TK.\" Your donations made it possible for us to create a vibrant and interactive space where our students can explore, imagine, and grow through play.
