I was so worried about not having an appropriate selection of books for my students, and you helped me provide them not only options, but options with representations of different genders, races, neurodivergence, and sexual orientations.\r\n\r\nThe traditional protagonist is a straight white male, and while many of my students have enjoyed learning about people from other walks of life, this year in particular I have many asian girls in my class who were excited to see books with Chinese, Korean, and Indian females as the main characters. \r\n\r\nIn this age of screen time, teachers will often have their students go onto various websites if they finish their work early. I want my kids to remember that reading can be for pleasure, and send them to my library to find a book.
