One of the lessons used this year was an Erosion lesson geared at teaching about the forces that change our landscape. The lesson has peaked my students curiosity into wondering what type of forces change the landscape and weather those forces existed in the past as well. \r\n\r\nThe project allowed the student to see the process of erosion and deposition. They were able to visually identify how deposition helps form layers in rocks. They then took that knowledge and realized that these layers/stata are like a history book that reveals the key to the geologic past. \r\n\r\nThey have now moved on to explore how we know dinosaurs existed and to discover evidence within the strata that a meteor wiped out the dinosaurs in a mass extinction event. Everything from the perfect size to the right color had my students smiling. They couldn't believe that there were folks in the world helping them out. You are opening up their eyes to the world.\r\n\r\nThe students are enjoying the long sleeve t-shirts while they are indoors these days. Climbing wall and badminton are the two lessons we will enjoy for a couple more weeks. Then, outside for flag football.
