Each new bloom fills their faces with excitement as they discover the colors of their flowers. Through this hands-on experience, they have learned about the life cycle of a plant and what plants need in order to grow.\r\n\r\nThey have gently tended to their garden, finding creative ways to bring water to their growing plants. Whether emptying paint buckets, using recycled playdough containers, or sharing a single watering can, they have worked together to make sure their garden stayed alive and healthy. During our Open House, they were eager to step outside the classroom and proudly show their families their garden.\r\n\r\nAlong the way, they have also learned patience. We graphed our predictions for each flower bud, explored color mixing, and made connections between our garden and the gardens in the books you generously gifted us.\r\n\r\nWe are forever grateful for your contribution and for helping create such meaningful learning experiences for our students.","fullyFundedDate":1749916133002,"projectUrl":"project/growing-gardeners-in-tk/9368266/","projectTitle":"Growing Gardeners in TK","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Magdaleno","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10010425_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1746075734482","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/anamagdaleno"},{"teacherId":1897327,"projectId":9743979,"letterContent":"We are using the new resources daily during small-group instruction, centers, and intervention time. When they first saw the materials, their faces lit up, and many immediately asked, \"Can we try this today?\" The hands-on puzzles, word-building activities, and sight-word tools have increased engagement and confidence, especially for students who benefit from tactile learning.\r\n\r\nNext, students will continue using these materials to strengthen foundational reading and math skills as we work on phonics, word patterns, and solving word problems. We are also beginning collaborative center rotations where students apply these skills independently and with peers.
