Newer books manufactured with weaker bindings were also reinforced with these repair supplies as a preventative measure. It is such a game changer and time saver when it comes to whittling down our overflowing Book Hospital bin. Students are thrilled to see their favorite books get repaired and return to the shelves. Books that highlight the diverse traditions of this holiday touched on the Asian diaspora around the the world that celebrate this holiday. From reunion dinners in Southeast Asia, to long noodle, dumplings, and tteokguk - our tummies were grumbling reading about the food traditions and their symbolic meanings. \"Boys Don't Fry\" by Kimberly Lee and \"Friends are Friends, Forever\" by Dane Liu touched on how we all make this special holiday our own. \r\n\r\nDuring the week of Lunar New Year, students learned about the Korean traditions of Seollal and participated in some of the new year's games and traditions mentioned in the books \"Tomorrow is New Year's Day\" by Aram Kim, \"Wish Soup\" by Junghwa Park, and Korean Celebrations\" by Tina Cho.
