I had the opportunity to loop up with my 1st graders from last year who are now 2nd graders. Last year, the students had issues utilizing the track pads during our projects, tests, and online worksheets. I also have 2 students who lack fine motor skills so I used my own computer mice for those students to accommodate their needs.\r\n\r\nDuring the 2nd week of school, I gave my students an assignment that relied heavily on dragging and dropping boxes to complete the work. I wanted to identify if there were any improvements over the Summer, and there was not. This is when I introduced them to the mice and they were all overjoyous. I was also able to provide my two students, who lack fine motor skills, a mouse to take home so they can use it with their Chromebooks at home.\r\n\r\nI have four new students this year to my class and they had never seen a computer mouse before so it was a learning curve.
