The wonderful outdoor equipment that you helped us provide our students is benefitting all 7 classrooms or 150 students. It has been a joy to watch them use the stepping stones in many creative ways, making up games like their own version of, \"The Floor is Lava\" and using the magnet tiles to build cooperatively with each other. When they first saw the magnet tiles they squealed in delight. After having very little engaging outdoor equipment, this new equipment is in use every day! It is wonderful for our students with special needs, helping with their sensory motor development. \r\n\r\nWe can't thank you enough for the transformation of our outdoor playground and the educational and social emotional opportunities it affords our students.","fullyFundedDate":1745496323939,"projectUrl":"project/cooperative-outdoor-play-equipment-for-c/9076537/","projectTitle":"Cooperative Outdoor Play Equipment for Children With Special Needs!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Chen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7227713_orig.jpg?crop=273,273,x341,y477&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1685570350539","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7227713"},{"teacherId":4622182,"projectId":8937718,"letterContent":"Thank you SO MUCH for our amazing new outdoor play items! The sandbox and climber have really refreshed the courtyard - it's so wonderful having more enriching offerings for our students. Another is really enjoying the new water play toys - the running water soothes him and regulates him.\r\n\r\nOur new sand is getting a lot of play, and we even had enough to share with another class in need.\r\n\r\nYour thoughtfulness is very appreciated!","fullyFundedDate":1734539686062,"projectUrl":"project/outdoor-play-for-special-needs-preschool/8937718/","projectTitle":"Outdoor Play for Special Needs Preschoolers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rachel","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4622182_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1502150623773","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4622182"},{"teacherId":7647780,"projectId":5358531,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, the books you helped provide have made a huge difference for my students during distance learning. In a time when connection and consistency were more important than ever, these books became a bridge between home and school—helping students build literacy skills, stay engaged, and feel like a part of our classroom community, even from afar. During virtual lessons, we used the books for read-alouds, retelling activities, and vocabulary building. Many students were able to follow along with their own copies at home, which made learning feel more interactive and personal.\r\n\r\nWhat excited students most was the chance to own books they could read and explore independently. For many, this was their first time building a small library at home. One student, in particular, would proudly show his book during every Zoom session and even started reading it to his younger sibling. That sense of ownership and confidence was beautiful to see, and it reminded me how meaningful these resources are—not just for academic growth, but for nurturing a love of reading.","fullyFundedDate":1610399488892,"projectUrl":"project/lets-keep-reading-even-through-virtua/5358531/","projectTitle":"Let's Keep Reading - Even Through Virtual Learning.","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Attianna","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7647780_orig.jpg?crop=711,711,x160,y237&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1674540381689","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7647780"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_108876","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":74,"percentAsian":9,"percentBlack":18,"percentWhite":9,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":46,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":76.3,"schoolId":108876,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about United Nation Child Development Center on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"United Nation Child Development Center","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/oakland-unified-school-district/united-nation-child-development-center/108876"}
