The selected books are not only at a level appropriate to new and struggling readers, but also provide endless opportunities to practice adding voice and prosody to the story. \r\n\r\nStudents have enjoyed having their books open side by side to read stories of Gerald and Piggie, poetry, and \"The Book with No Pictures.\" They have not only practiced reading to each other, but have also read to kindergarten classes who love hearing their favorite characters come to life when read by the \"big kids\" on campus. The tapes have been put to use allowing me to stick and unstick images and more in our class anchor charts as I create and re-create them with all three of our classes. And the HDMI cable!
