As a dual language school, my 3rd grade students are learning in Spanish and in English. I am the 3rd grade Spanish Language Arts teacher and this project will support the creation of a Spanish classroom library. It is very difficult to find high interest books in Spanish, let alone books that center the many different identities of my students. Your support of this project will buy books in Spanish that my students will be able to identify with because they see themselves as the main characters. These books will also serve as a window into the lives of others and lift up the identities of many groups of people. In order for my students to believe that Spanish is a language for everyone, they must see people like themselves in the books they read. Thank you so much for your support!
