One of my favorite moments was during a center rotation when students used Play-Doh to form numbers, letters, and words, magnetic sticks to build structures and patterns, and number puzzles to practice number recognition and problem-solving. Students were focused, excited, and collaborating with one another as they worked.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, they were thrilled. There were lots of smiles, excitement, and eager hands ready to explore. Students immediately began experimenting, connecting magnetic sticks, molding Play-Doh, and trying to complete the puzzles. The materials sparked curiosity and creativity right away.\r\n\r\nThanks to our donors, students are able to learn through hands-on exploration that supports different learning styles. Our next steps include using these materials in upcoming math and STEM lessons to deepen understanding of numbers, shapes, patterns, and early engineering skills. Students will continue working both independently and in small groups, explaining their thinking and building confidence as learners. We are so grateful for your generosity and the meaningful learning experiences you've helped make possible.","fullyFundedDate":1762707836313,"projectUrl":"project/play-build-and-learn-together/9807042/","projectTitle":"Play, Build, and Learn Together!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Cervantes","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-cervantesk2"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_3929","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":243,"numTeachers":11,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":60,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":30,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"22.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":76.3,"schoolId":3929,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Grass Valley Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Grass Valley Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/oakland-unified-school-district/grass-valley-elementary-school/3929"}
