My students live in Oakland, California and are very diverse in needs. The school is 92% African American, is considered HIGH poverty and most students participate in the reduced price lunch program. Students at this school come from neighborhoods all over Oakland and from mostly supportive families that are want good education for their children. Some students have faced many struggles and most consider school to be a second home where they can feel comfortable and happy and part of an overall community that cares for them. I teach a kindergarten class that begs differentiation and varied learning strategies due to a huge difference in learning styles and ranges. Thank you for supporting my class!
