Most of my students have grown up using gadgets, but they usually only see the finished product. Because of your help, they are finally getting to look under the hood.\r\n\r\nThis year, our scholars have been working hard with LEGO Spike Prime to learn the basics of robotics. They have loved it, but they were already asking what comes next. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to introduce microprocessors like Arduino and Raspberry Pi as that next step. These tools allow them to move beyond building with blocks and start creating custom electronics from scratch.\r\n\r\nThe excitement in the classroom was huge when the new motors and sensors arrived. We are already planning how to use them this coming fall, when we move to our new campus and set up a dedicated makerspace. This space will give the students a permanent home to experiment and build. We have also started a STEAM library with your support, which is already a favorite spot for scholars to grab a book and find inspiration for their next big idea.\r\n\r\nI have been especially proud of a few students who usually find it hard to stay engaged during a normal lesson. One scholar in particular, who often gets restless during lectures, becomes the most focused person in the room as soon as we start wiring a circuit. This project has given them a chance to be a leader and show what they are capable of.
