They were so thrilled to find out how quickly this project had been funded. They were even more excited when the materials began to arrive!\r\nThe wobble cushions and chair bands are great for students who need to move around while seated (and they've drastically reduced the frequency of kids leaning back dangerously in their chairs). The trays and bins keep various classroom supplies organized, so that students always know where to get the things they need for literacy centers and other activities, helping them have more ownership over the space. The wobble stools are immensely popular; I use them to help students self-soothe and focus when I pull them for one-on-one assessments, and the class even voted to have \"Use a wobble stool for the day\" in our class store as an incentive they could 'buy' with their Power Dollars. We refer to the dividers as our \"offices\"; students use them to enhance concentration and prevent cheating during whole-class assessments, with some children even electing to use them during independent work time to block out distractions. And I would be remiss not to mention the ear defenders, which are so helpful to my scholars who are noise-sensitive; they help students tolerate the amplified sound during our weekly school-wide Community Meeting rather than being overstimulated by it.\r\nThank you so very much; you have made a tremendously positive difference in our classroom this year!","fullyFundedDate":1758839782750,"projectUrl":"project/a-colorful-organized-sensory-friendly/9714854/","projectTitle":"A Colorful, Organized, Sensory-Friendly Space That Supports All Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Mx. Please forgive me; there was (as you probably remember) a lot going on in 2021!\r\nThe 2020-21 school year was an immensely challenging one for both students and educators. Many of the books purchased through this project were distributed to students via their families picking them up as part of the materials kits that the school distributed each trimester—though I also delivered many of them via making the rounds to students' homes by bike or car to drop them off! The scholars who were impacted by this project will enter 10th grade in the fall, but those with whom I remained in touch after 5th grade promotion continued to show excitement and appreciation for the books we were able to acquire with your generous support, and for reading more generally. \r\nThank you for supporting me and my students during what was truly an unprecedented time.","fullyFundedDate":1614100225736,"projectUrl":"project/readers-are-leaders-blasting-off-with-b/5377193/","projectTitle":"Readers Are Leaders!
