Because of your generosity, my students have been using the new hands-on materials every day during learning centers, small-group activities, and outdoor play. They especially enjoy building with the blocks, creating stories with the animals and dolls, and exploring the vehicles and dinosaurs. One of my favorite moments was watching a group of children work together to build a zoo with the blocks and animal figurines. They took turns, shared ideas, and used new vocabulary as they explained their creations to one another.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, my students were filled with excitement. They couldn't wait to explore each new toy and immediately began using their imaginations. It was wonderful to see children who are usually quiet become engaged in conversations and cooperative play. The materials have encouraged creativity, problem-solving, communication, and social-emotional skills while making learning fun.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the school year, these resources will be an important part of our classroom. We will use them to support dramatic play, STEM exploration, language development, and collaborative learning experiences. My goal is to continue creating opportunities for every child to learn through play, build confidence, and develop the skills they need for future success. Thank you for making that possible and for investing in my students' growth and happiness.","fullyFundedDate":1774963889284,"projectUrl":"project/learning-through-play-safe-hands-on-to/10021600/","projectTitle":"Learning Through Play: Safe, Hands-On Toys for Early Childhood Exploration","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Erika","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8964737_orig.jpg?crop=2277,2277,x38,y254&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1676779883185","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8964737"},{"teacherId":8964737,"projectId":10022785,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. Because of your support, my students now have exciting new literacy materials that they use every day during small groups and literacy centers. They especially enjoy building CVC words, matching letters and sounds, using the alphabet blocks, and practicing sight words. One of my favorite moments was watching my students work together to build simple words and proudly read them aloud to their classmates. Seeing their confidence grow has been so rewarding.\r\n\r\nWhen the new materials arrived, my students were full of excitement. They couldn't wait to open the boxes and explore everything. They immediately started asking questions, trying out the games, and helping each other learn. The storage bins have also made it easy for students to independently choose activities and clean up after themselves, helping them become more responsible and confident learners.\r\n\r\nAs we continue our literacy lessons, we will keep using these materials to strengthen letter recognition, phonics, vocabulary, and early writing skills. The delivery of the new building blocks, jumbo puzzles, manipulatives, and sensory exploration tools etc has been met with squeals of delight and focused, sustained learning.\r\nOur little scientists are busy experimenting with gravity and balance using the blocks, sorting and classifying materials, and exploring cause and effect. They are taking full advantage of the resources that they don't have access to in their home environment. Which means every day is an adventure when they come to room D. Our mathematicians are developing early number sense and spatial reasoning through play with the brightly colored puzzles and developmentally appropriate books. This hands-on approach is exactly what our young learners need—it makes abstract concepts tangible and fun!\r\nThank you for believing in the power of early childhood education and for investing in our students' future success. It was a powerful moment for them, and for all of us.\r\n\r\nDuring the ceremony, the impact of your gift was unmistakable. Our students walked across the stage looking confident, unified, and proud. Families cheered, took photos, and shared how meaningful it was to see their children honored in this way. The caps and gowns helped create a celebration that truly reflected the hard work and perseverance of every student in our school.\r\n\r\nNow that graduation has passed, our students have taken those memories with them as they move on to their next steps; whether that's a new grade level, a new school, or the start of something entirely new.
