We listed the characters and discussed why they are important to the story. We also discussed the setting and why the hotel is important to the story. We continued discussing the story elements and later used the graphic organizer for our writing. \r\n\r\nThe children learned a basic writing process of writing ideas, a rough draft and a final draft. \r\n\r\nThe students got a lot of learning out of this book and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.","fullyFundedDate":1772744523458,"projectUrl":"project/for-the-love-of-reading/10122781/","projectTitle":"For the Love of Reading!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ashcraft","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9314609_orig.jpg?crop=1358,1358,x341,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1699304351353","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9314609"},{"teacherId":9314609,"projectId":10145194,"letterContent":"My students have Dog Man fever! I wish I could thank Dav Pilkey in person because all of my students love his books! Before Open House, I showed my students all of the books I choose from my DonorsChoose project and they screamed with excitement! They were so thrilled! I choose mostly Dog Man books because once a book becomes popular, then all children want to read it, even students who are emerging readers. This makes everyone happy, kids, parents and teachers. \r\n\r\nI also choose other books to give a few options. The Mercy Watson series is also popular because who doesn't love a pig who loves hot buttered toast?\r\n\r\nThe parents were very happy and it was a highlight of Open House! The children got to put a sticker with their name on it, so now they can bring it to school and read with their friends. \r\n\r\nIn my classroom, the children read together on the carpet, so it will be so cute to see them with their new books and being excited. \r\n\r\nThank you to all the donors for making this happen for my students, you made a lot of people happy and encouraged reading!","fullyFundedDate":1773679133720,"projectUrl":"project/free-book-fair/10145194/","projectTitle":"Free Book Fair!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ashcraft","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9314609_orig.jpg?crop=1358,1358,x341,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1699304351353","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9314609"},{"teacherId":5251050,"projectId":9288756,"letterContent":"I am so grateful for this wonderful\r\n opportunity to become a certified Cosmic Yoga Teacher.
