Our reading practices often change daily in the form of either small groups, individual reading, partner reading, read-alouds and even outdoor reading! This differentiation in reading keeps them engaged in reading and supports their love for reading outside of just the classroom.\r\n\r\nAs a reading teacher, books offer students a mirror, window, or sliding glass door into their life or the lives of others. Books are important because not only do they support the development of language and reading skills, but students can also see themselves within a book, understand the perspectives of others, and become curious to new ideas and questions. Thanks to you, you have provided my students with an opportunity to flourish in their academic and personal growth as readers. \r\n\r\nThank you again for your donation to our classroom and supporting a future of strong readers and learners.","fullyFundedDate":1744290626562,"projectUrl":"project/empower-young-minds-help-us-build-a-cla/9251134/","projectTitle":"Empower Young Minds: Help Us Build a Classroom Library!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. B","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9827733_orig.jpg?crop=993,993,x141,y451&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1730875928700","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9827733"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_37062","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":415,"numTeachers":23,"percentFrplEligible":77,"percentAsian":22,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":67,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"18.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":73.1,"schoolId":37062,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Palmer Way Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Palmer Way Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/national-school-district/palmer-way-elementary-school/37062"}
