The equipment that was donated has made a huge impact in our classes and after school programs. Prior to your donation we had a big interest in practicing volleyball but did not have the equipment for students to practice their sport. We now have an adequate amount of volleyballs for our PE classes so that all students have access to practicing and improving their game. \r\n\r\nWe were also in great need for badminton birdies for our students to practice during PE. Later this February we will be working to defend our undefeated title for the third year in a row. The additional birdies have allowed our students to start practicing for the season that they are extremely passionate and excited for. \r\n\r\nLastly, I want to share the impact that you had for our boys basketball team. Not only did the additional basketballs allow our boys to get in those extra shots at basketball, but they were so unbelievably proud of our new high end equipment. I have never seen those boys take such great care and responsibility for their equipment before. The whole team was overwhelmed with joy and excitement when I presented them with their new Evolution basketballs. \r\n\r\nThank you again, from the bottom of our hearts-your impact will continue to reach our students for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1731122095225,"projectUrl":"project/ums-athletics-equipment/8926129/","projectTitle":"UMS Athletics Equipment","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Golding","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7566593"},{"teacherId":9725387,"projectId":8732425,"letterContent":"I greatly appreciate the mini white boards purchased for our Spanish classroom. We enjoy playing games with the white boards. Our class loves learning Spanish with games. It is a great way to introduce facts and have students practice.\r\n\r\nMy students were very excited when they saw the white boards. They constantly ask to use them. I also utilize them for small group instruction. It is a fun way to review and engagement is high automatically.\r\n\r\nAt this time we are reading The Giver is Spanish Language Arts. It is wonderful novel for middle school students. Your support has already begun to make a difference, and we are excited for the opportunities these tools will continue to provide as the year progresses.\r\n\r\nAlthough we haven't yet used the rulers and compasses in our math lessons, I know they will be critical when we begin our geometry unit later this year. My students will use them to explore shapes, angles, and precise constructions—skills that are fundamental to understanding geometry. These tools will help transform abstract concepts into tangible learning experiences, making math both accessible and engaging for every student. In the meantime, the rulers have already proven to be incredibly versatile. My students have used them for various art projects and activities where straight edges were essential, such as creating charts and graphs. It's wonderful to see them discovering the many ways these tools can be used, both inside and outside of math lessons.\r\n\r\nThe calculators have been a game changer for my students. For students who sometimes struggle with calculations, having access to this technology has been empowering and provided a boost of confidence. One student recently shared, \"I like using the calculator because it helps me understand the problem better.\" One student in particular, who often hesitates to participate in class, confidently volunteered to solve a problem on the board after using the calculator to check his work. \r\n\r\nYour generosity has made a tangible difference in my students' educational journey. Beyond providing materials, your support has shown them that someone believes in their potential. It's a powerful message that encourages them to stay curious and work hard.\r\n\r\nThank you for equipping my students with the tools they need to succeed and thrive. We're looking forward to diving into our geometry unit and making full use of everything you've provided.","fullyFundedDate":1724274405410,"projectUrl":"project/math-marvels-need-new-tools/8646586/","projectTitle":"Math Marvels Need New Tools","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Varin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9654036"},{"teacherId":468000,"projectId":8622592,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the generous donations. My students have been able to help keep the classroom clean by helping to vacuum after big and messy projects or class celebrations. They just love cleaning and have such enthusiasm! Gotta love 6th graders!\r\n Also, we have been able to use some of the clay for a fun experience involving the concept of change. Students were to make a shape out of the clay and share it within their circle, then pass to the next person to change it into their own shape. They had a blast manipulating the clay. We will use some of the clay later in the year for another project.\r\n Finally, students were able to use the paper cutters and paper to assist with the altar's for Día de los muertos. Not only did they make their altar's in class, but they were on display in our town center for a Día de los muertos celebration.\r\n We will continue to use the materials this year and in years to come.
