Because of your kindness, I have been able to bring self-regulation books into the learning environment—resources that have already made a meaningful difference for students.\r\n\r\nI recently used the book My Brain is a Race Car as part of a classroom lesson focused on regulation strategies for self-control. As we read together, the students were highly engaged, making connections between the characters' experiences and their own feelings. Many students shared that the book resonated with them and they sometimes felt like there was a race car driving around in their brain. After reading the book, the students completed a craft and identified regulation strategies. They discussed what they could do when they felt overwhelmed, such as taking deep breaths, asking for a break, or using calming tools. \r\n\r\nThis classroom includes several neurodiverse learners, and it was powerful to see their engagement during the story and the activity. These books will continue to be a valuable part of supporting social-emotional learning and helping students develop the tools they need to succeed both academically and personally.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has created a lasting impact, and we are incredibly grateful.
