They even organized themselves into an assembly-line style process, dividing tasks and working collaboratively to make the project efficient and successful. It was wonderful watching students take such ownership over real library work!\r\n\r\nAs they worked, students began noticing other ways they could help protect the collection. They discovered fading and peeling barcode stickers and used clear protective labels to preserve them so books could continue circulating smoothly. Students also added corner protectors to high-circulation books, especially popular graphic novels that experience heavy use throughout the school year. Many students commented that they had never realized how much care goes into maintaining a library collection.\r\n\r\nThis project helped students see the library as a shared community space that everyone can help care for.
