I am sincerely grateful for the opportunity to incorporate this powerful tool into my instruction, as it has strengthened my teaching practices while creating equitable access, fostering independence, and inspiring a deeper love of learning among my students.\r\n\r\nThe iPad Air has enhanced the way I plan, deliver, and assess instruction. It allows me to design lessons that are interactive, visually engaging, and responsive to individual student needs. Instead of relying solely on traditional whole-group instruction, I can incorporate multimedia elements such as instructional videos, interactive simulations, digital graphic organizers, and guided practice activities. This variety helps me present content in multiple ways, ensuring that visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learners all have meaningful entry points into the lesson.\r\n\r\nThe iPad Air also supports my ability to differentiate instruction in real time. During small group instruction, I can assign targeted practice based on each student's skill level. \r\n\r\nAdvanced learners can access enrichment activities, while students who need additional support can review scaffolded lessons with built-in prompts and supports. I am able to quickly adjust assignments, provide audio directions, or model strategies digitally. This flexibility allows me to meet students where they are without singling anyone out, creating a classroom environment that feels inclusive and supportive.\r\n\r\nFor my English language learners, I intentionally use the iPad Air to embed vocabulary development and language supports into daily instruction. I can incorporate translation tools, captioned videos, and interactive visuals that strengthen comprehension. I also encourage students to use speech-to-text features during writing activities, allowing them to express their ideas more fluently while continuing to develop their academic language skills. \r\n\r\nIt helps me provide consistent, structured support throughout the day.\r\n\r\nThe iPad Air has also improved how I assess student understanding. I use digital exit tickets, quick quizzes, and collaborative response platforms to gather immediate feedback. This real-time data informs my instructional decisions, enabling me to reteach concepts, form flexible groups, or extend learning as needed. The ability to monitor progress efficiently ensures that instruction remains purposeful and student-centered.\r\n\r\nMy students and I are so grateful for your donations!","fullyFundedDate":1764615330797,"projectUrl":"project/the-ipad-advantage/9702873/","projectTitle":"The iPad Advantage","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Masongsong","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp579867_orig.png?crop=256,256,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1757470539033","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/579867"},{"teacherId":477146,"projectId":9787129,"letterContent":"My sixth graders are still kids at heart, and sometimes it's the little things that make the biggest difference. Desk pets may be small, but they are a huge motivator in our classroom. Students earn them by staying on task, completing their work, and making positive choices. Instead of focusing on what students are doing wrong, this system helps me highlight what they are doing right. It brings excitement into the room and gives students something fun to work toward each day.\r\n\r\nFor many of my students, especially those who struggle with confidence, having a desk pet creates a sense of pride and ownership. They take care of it, keep their space organized, and work hard to earn small accessories and privileges. It builds responsibility while also creating a positive classroom community. When students feel successful and recognized, they are more engaged and willing to try—even when the work feels challenging.\r\n\r\nFunding this project will help me continue building a classroom where positive behavior is celebrated and students feel motivated to do their best. It proved to be more challenging than they thought, giving them an appreciation of the ancient writing system. \r\n\r\nThe second project we were able to do was to make \"stained glass\" windows inspired by the 12 Tribes of Ancient Israel. My class is a 6th and sometimes 7th grade art rotation class. Most of my students have had very little exposure to art. When I was asked to teach this class, I was excited to have a bit of a change from English and World History. This would allow me to meet more of our students on campus as well as teach them that art is more than a coloring sheet. \r\n\r\nThe first project the students were asked to complete was learning about patterns and incorporating them into a zentangle. This would allow them to be successful from the beginning and keep the stress level down. Within a couple of weeks students were asking to learn about Picasso, Keith Haring, Op Art, and wanting to use watercolor and pastels. For some reason, this became a favorite medium for them. \r\n\r\nThe kids were beyond ecstatic when boxes began arriving. They could not wrap their minds around strangers from other states donating to help with our supplies. There were cheers and many smiles at being able to use a brand new water color set.
