One of our favorite moments was a simple \"snack-and-create\" activity where students shared a treat while working on small art projects. The relaxed setting helped conversations flow naturally and allowed students to feel more comfortable opening up.\r\nThe younger students were immediately excited about the snacks—they loved having something comforting, and it really helped ease their shyness. Our mentors were thrilled about the art supplies because they make activities more engaging and help spark meaningful conversations.\r\nOur next steps are to continue using these resources to strengthen mentor–mentee relationships. We'll be incorporating more structured craft activities that promote teamwork, self-expression, and communication. These materials will continue to support a safe, positive space where students can build confidence and stronger connections with one another.","fullyFundedDate":1763474826935,"projectUrl":"project/snackin-craftin-with-peer-mentors/9672510/","projectTitle":"Snackin’ & Craftin' with Peer Mentors","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Michel","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8504985_orig.jpg?crop=2208,2208,x0,y736&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1731471781963","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8504985"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_79643","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":368,"numTeachers":19,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":23,"percentWhite":8,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":56,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":5,"gradesServed":"6 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"19.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":82.1,"schoolId":79643,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Mojave Junior Senior High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Mojave Junior Senior High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/mojave-unified-school-district/mojave-high-school/79643"}
