Every morning the students are able to enjoy five minutes with what we call, \"thinker tools\" which are their stem toys. They cherish this time as it allows them to have an enjoyable activity at the very beginning of their day before transitioning to more rigourous learning material. I have also integrated these tools into our math lessons. WHile learning grouping in multiplication I gave them each a number of disks and tasked them with grouping them by row and column. These manipulatives were effective instructional materials, especially for those students who benefit from some form of stimulus to engage with the material. \r\nAnother example would be the stop light timer which is a daily use in our classroom. Students are given a task and time of completion. The stop light timer lets them know when time is nearly up by beeping when moving from green to yellow and yellow to red.","fullyFundedDate":1752523815214,"projectUrl":"project/help-us-bloom-creating-garden-themed-sp/9448313/","projectTitle":"Help Us Bloom: Creating Garden-Themed Space For Ms. Barker’s Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Barker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10071960_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1751865795392","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10071960"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_96126","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":495,"numTeachers":22,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":27,"percentWhite":11,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":52,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":7,"gradesServed":"3 - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"22.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":94.7,"schoolId":96126,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Hacienda Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Hacienda Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/mojave-unified-school-district/hacienda-elementary-school/96126"}
