One of our favorite new activities is a cooperative relay in which students navigate cone pathways and end with a toss-and-catch challenge using the sticky pads. This has not only strengthened their motor skills, but has also encouraged communication and encouragement within their groups, and individual coordination. Watching them cheer each other on is incredibly moving and a reminder of how powerful the right tools can be.\r\n\r\nThe moment the students first saw the new equipment, the room filled with excitement. Many of them immediately asked if they could start using the frisbees right away. Some students who are usually hesitant during PE looked excited and willing to try because the new materials looked so fun and inviting. Their enthusiasm carried over into our first lesson with the materials and it has created an incredibly positive energy during PE time.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, these resources will continue to support our lessons on teamwork, motor skills, and building confidence. The supplies your funds helped to provide have enhanced student learning and engagement.\r\n\r\nStudent use the dry erase markers multiple times a day for practice with sentence writing, number writing, addition and subtraction practice, and so much more. The dry erase markers and student white boards (created with the funded cardstock) help give early finishers preplanned and purposeful activities to do once they complete assignments. They also give teachers an opportunity to do a quick check for understanding which helps with lesson design and identifies areas of mastery and those in need of review. \r\n\r\nStudents use their new homework folders to take assignments and important notices home each night. It is also a great way for them to keep their homework safe, and it helps with managing homework collection inside the classroom. Student's take great pride in their work folders and sharing their work with their families. The colored paper is also a great addition to our homework routines and procedures. Homework is always distributed in colored paper to make it easily identifiable for students and families. Important notices are also sent home on colored paper to make sure they are read and recognized.\r\n\r\nStudents were most excited by the water bottle stickers. Students can earn a sticker multiple times throughout the day. Students can earn a sticker for their folder by activity participating in reading instruction and fluency groups, meeting classroom learning goals, and returning homework assignments. \r\n\r\nThank you for your kindness, support and well wishes.
