We averaged reading 1 to 2 chapters each day. Students came in eager to read and ready to talk about what we read - from opinions on the characters and plot to discussing predictions of what was coming next. Third Grade Angels also led to really great conversations about bullying, making good choices and other issues that third graders often deal with. The new books you helped provide have become the heart of our literature circles—an engaging and student-led approach to reading that builds both comprehension and community.\r\n\r\nIn our literature circles, students take on rotating roles like Discussion Director, Vocabulary Enricher, Passage Master, Connector, and Illustrator. These roles empower students to explore literature from multiple angles and practice essential reading skills. From analyzing characters' motivations to connecting the story to their own lives, students are learning to think deeply and critically. We also focus on answering inference questions, helping students read between the lines and develop higher-level comprehension skills.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is both structured and lively. We read a chapter a day, and after each reading, students reflect on the text through their assigned roles. Small groups meet like book clubs, sharing their thoughts, illustrations, and vocabulary discoveries. These discussions have sparked excitement and genuine curiosity about the books.\r\n\r\nOne title that has truly captivated our students is Charlotte's Web. The rich storytelling and emotional depth of the novel have led to some incredible discussions—and even laughter and tears. During a recent field trip where we dissected owl pellets, one student found a rodent's tail and shouted, \"It must be Templeton's!\" Moments like these show just how deeply connected the students have become to the story.\r\n\r\nYour donation has done more than put books in students' hands—you've helped create readers, thinkers, and lifelong learners.
