Each day, they eagerly look forward to engaging in play-based learning, especially during our Wednesday career exploration activities. Through role-playing as chefs, waitstaff, customers, and janitors, they've gained a meaningful understanding of the importance of each role and have developed a genuine appreciation for the people who work in these careers.\r\n\r\nTheir excitement was clear the moment they saw our new materials—they couldn't wait to dive in and now ask to use them every day. Free play has become an especially anticipated part of our routine, giving students a chance to interact with these tools in creative and purposeful ways.\r\n\r\nAs we continue our journey, the next step is to introduce careers that students encounter in their daily lives. My goal is to help them build strong connections between these hands-on materials and the real-world roles they represent, fostering an understanding of just how valuable and essential these careers are in our community.","fullyFundedDate":1739369711442,"projectUrl":"project/kindergarteners-today-professional-work/8949011/","projectTitle":"Kindergarteners Today, Professional Worker Tomorrow!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ochoa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9840448"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_89892","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":581,"numTeachers":24,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":7,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":8,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":71,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"24.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":91.3,"schoolId":89892,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about John Muir Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"John Muir Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/merced-city-school-district/john-muir-elementary-school/89892"}
