As the end of the year approached I wanted to make sure my students knew that their hard work did not go unnoticed. We wanted to celebrate with a water bar. Your donations to this project made that happen. My students were so excited to grab a clear plastic cup and add a fancy sticker to it. Then my students got some ice and water in the cup along with a fun water flavor packet and some candy to mix in from the water bar. Students had snacks enjoyed their fancy drinks and hung out with their friends. On the last week of school students said this party was their favorite 2nd Grade memory. Thank you for making this happen for my students! We are SO beyond grateful to have recieved the snacks and incentives and it has come in handy in so many different situations. The tables and stools have been put to good use in our small group zone. Before we set up this area, we didn't have a dedicated area for small groups. We would have to move desks around every time we were working in small groups, which took time away from instructional time. \r\n\r\nNow my small group students have a dedicated zone. We work together in this area daily. In these pictures, you can see students working on phonics and grammar. These are students who need extra support and scaffolding when the rest of the class is working independently. These students enjoy their time working with me and with each other. \r\n\r\nIn addition, any time that any student is struggling, they simply ask me if they can see me at the back table. When a student is having a hard time staying focused, that student may choose to work at this table to help them stay on task.
