The social-emotional texts have helped students build skills such as empathy, self-awareness, problem-solving, and emotional regulation. Many of the stories have opened the door for meaningful conversations about friendship, perseverance, kindness, and handling challenges in healthy ways. Students often see themselves or their experiences reflected in the characters, which helps them feel understood and more comfortable sharing their thoughts and feelings with others.\r\n\r\nThe grade-level readers have also helped students grow academically by giving them access to engaging texts that match their reading abilities while still challenging them to think critically. Students are practicing comprehension, fluency, vocabulary, and discussion skills in a way that feels exciting and motivating. Having a wider variety of books has allowed me to better support different learning levels and interests within the classroom.\r\n\r\nThe extra supplies that were donated have also expanded what we are able to do as a class. Because of these materials, students now have access to hands-on activities and learning experiences that we did not previously have the resources for. The supplies have helped make lessons more interactive, collaborative, and engaging, allowing students to practice skills in creative ways rather than only through paper-and-pencil work. The excitement students show when using these new materials has been incredible, and it has helped create a more positive and enriching learning environment overall.","fullyFundedDate":1770007894382,"projectUrl":"project/lancasters-learners/10076551/","projectTitle":"Lancaster’s Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lancaster","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10081194_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1769931789634","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10081194"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_61291","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":842,"numTeachers":35,"percentFrplEligible":65,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":9,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":78,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":4,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"24.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":77.6,"schoolId":61291,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Lincoln Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Lincoln Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/madera-unified-school-district/lincoln-elementary-school/61291"}
