They absolutely love using the calming center for reading and taking breaks when needed. The flexible seating options have been a game-changer, allowing students to choose where they want to sit and in what position, depending on the activity. The addition of tennis balls to the chairs has been a favorite feature, too. The quiet glide of the chairs makes it easier for students to move around without creating distractions, and it has helped maintain a peaceful classroom atmosphere where they can focus on their work.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new materials, they were thrilled, especially with the seating and the calming center. The flexible seating and tennis ball-adorned chairs allowed them to quickly adjust to a new level of comfort and mobility in the classroom. They were particularly excited about the quiet movement of the chairs, which allowed them to work without disturbing the class next door. They were also excited about the calming center, as it provided a dedicated space for them to focus on their reading in a calm, peaceful setting.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, my students are excited to continue using these new resources to enhance their learning. In upcoming lessons, they will use the flexible seating to collaborate on group projects, making it easier for them to move around and discuss ideas comfortably. I'm also planning to incorporate more activities in the calming center, where students can go to reflect on their learning and find inspiration for their next tasks. The combination of these tools is helping to create a dynamic and positive learning environment where students feel engaged, comfortable, and empowered.","fullyFundedDate":1726789616243,"projectUrl":"project/support-flexible-learning-calm-corners/8703713/","projectTitle":"Support Flexible Learning, Calm Corners, and Innovative Tools!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. De La Torre","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5273183_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1726790577355","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5273183"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_27966","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":560,"numTeachers":29,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":91,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"19.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":67.9,"schoolId":27966,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Lindbergh Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Lindbergh Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/lynwood-unified-school-district/lindbergh-elementary-school/27966"}
