Your kindness has made a meaningful difference in the lives of our students every single day.\r\n\r\nBecause of your donations, our students now have access to healthy snacks that help them stay focused, energized, and ready to learn throughout the school day. For many students, having a nutritious snack available can completely change their ability to concentrate and participate in class.\r\n\r\nYour support also provided hygiene products such as deodorant and body wash for students to take home if needed. These items may seem simple, but they help our students feel confident, cared for, and prepared for success both inside and outside the classroom. Knowing they have access to basic necessities helps reduce stress and allows them to focus more fully on learning and growing.\r\n\r\nMiddle school can be a challenging time, and your generosity reminds our students that their community believes in them. You are helping create an environment where students feel supported, valued, and equipped with what they need to thrive.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of our entire classroom, thank you for investing in our students and making such a positive impact on their lives.","fullyFundedDate":1772546749302,"projectUrl":"project/keeping-it-fresh/10078259/","projectTitle":"Keeping It Fresh!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Diehl","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1053729_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1536268838618","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1053729"},{"teacherId":8580404,"projectId":9713320,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generous snack donations! My students are currently working on a reading-and-response project where they read short fiction texts and then write a reflection about character traits and theme. The new books have sparked so much excitement—students are eager to choose their \"just right\" book and settle into reading. One of my favorite moments was watching a usually hesitant reader sit down with a new book and stay completely engaged for the entire independent reading block.\r\nHow did your students react when they first saw the materials?\r\nThey were so excited! Many of them immediately grabbed a pencil and started writing and a few students proudly said, \"These are our new special pencils!\" The books were the biggest hit—students were literally whisper-yelling \"I want this one!\" and trading titles with each other. Students walk to me and ask to sharpen their special pencils, because they don't want to put them in the jar full of shared pencils. \r\nOur next step is diving deeper into our reading responses. Students will be practicing how to support their thinking with text evidence and create short written pieces about the books they choose. We're also starting small book discussions, so the new materials will help them build confidence and stay engaged as we move into more advanced comprehension skills.\r\nOur class also received a generous donation of snacks, which has made a huge difference during our daily i-Ready time. Many of my students come to class hungry or lose focus when they haven't had enough to eat, so having snacks available helps them stay comfortable and ready to learn. I offer the snacks right before we begin i-Ready, and it has noticeably improved their concentration and stamina. Instead of worrying about their hunger, students can focus on their reading and math lessons, and they're much more engaged and motivated. This simple support has truly helped create a calmer, more productive learning environment.","fullyFundedDate":1758478104532,"projectUrl":"project/pencils-have-erasers-because-we-make-mis/9713357/","projectTitle":"Pencils Have Erasers Because We Make Mistakes","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sahba","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8580404_orig.jpg?crop=956,956,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1757800289163","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8580404"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_4828","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":431,"numTeachers":22,"percentFrplEligible":84,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":2,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":88,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":1,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"19.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":80.3,"schoolId":4828,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Luther Burbank Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Luther Burbank Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/luther-burbank-school-district/luther-burbank-elementary-school/4828"}
