Our students have been using the Keurig machine to make themselves hot chocolate every day since we received it and brought it out. They work quietly as they sip through their drink. They enjoy the independence of being able to get up and prepare their hot chocolate when they need a break or during the cold mornings. I have seeing students come to school in wet rainy weather and head towards the Keurig machine, ready to make their hot drink. In addition, the hot chocolate area has become a place where our students hang out to take a break while enjoying their hot beverage. Many of our students come to school without having had breakfast. It is comforting to know that at our school, they can at least enjoy a hot drink before lunch.\r\n\r\nIn December, we held a winter wonderland event for our students and presented the Keurig for the first time. Many of our students were instantly drawn into the hot cholate area. They were so excited to not only be able to get a hot beverage, but to feel the independence of preparing it for themselves. It was heartwarming to see them really enjoying it. Many students take their hot beverage over to their desk where they continue working while others enjoy it while they take a break. This would not have been possible without your donation.
