Our students have just started acquiring their \"pets\", and it is a hit.\r\nIn order to adopt their pet, I just ask them to provide me a review of a book that I can share with other students. They have a few different options of ways to create their review and then once it is turned in, they get to choose their pet. If they do additional reviews, I will give them the option of adding accessories for their pets or adopting a new pet. \r\nOur school library patrons are doing so well! Having immediate access to printed materials helps me respond to my students' needs in real time and provide engaging resources that reinforce what they are learning in class.\r\n\r\nMy students are especially excited when they see their work come to life on paper. For many of my students, seeing their own ideas printed makes them feel like real authors and scientists.
